The Moonlight Run GSM from the Barossa Valley is a plush, juicy red with a wild streak—an old-school blend with a fresh, modern heartbeat. Named after a somewhat mischievous (and entirely true) story of smuggling barrels across borders under the cover of night, this wine captures that same spirit: bold, generous, and not taking itself too seriously.
A blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (aka Mourvèdre), with a splash of Cinsault in some vintages, it’s all about balance between fruit, spice, and savoury depth. Sourced from old vines across the northern Barossa—Greenock, Ebenezer, Moppa—the fruit is hand-picked, wild fermented, and matured in older French oak to keep the focus on freshness and texture.
Aromatically it leaps out with raspberry, plum and red cherry, then deeper notes of black pepper, dried herbs and cured meat roll in. The palate is smooth and vibrant, with Grenache bringing lift, Shiraz giving richness, and Mataro adding a savoury, earthy edge. There’s a hint of wild game and spice on the finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
Ideal with grilled lamb, wood-fired pizza, smoky eggplant or even a proper cheeseburger. It’s serious Barossa gear with a twinkle in its eye.
