An enticing complexity and intrigue, a bouquet of fresh red berries, cherry and strawberry wrapped in a light savoury frame, there’s an earth and stone complexity, some floral highlights and gentle fruit and wood spice core. Dry, textured and mirrors the bouquet as the wine touches the palate. Medium weighted with a persistent mouthfeel, texture and length. Well made with best drinking from 2026 through 2034+.

Single vineyard pinot noir from the Queensberry sub-region of Central Otago. A charming wine with tones of red cherry, strawberry and raspberry coulis cut with hints of wood spice, dried smoked meats, pressed flowers, wild thyme and earth. There is a spacious, savoury feel to the palate's shape, with plenty of fine, structural detail and energy. Finishes medium-weighted with spice, raspberry and strawberry on the exit.

Nanny Goat Single Vineyard Queensberry Pinot Noir is a refined, site-specific expression from one of Central Otago’s most picturesque and high-performing subregions. The Queensberry vineyard sits between the towns of Wanaka and Cromwell, nestled in the foothills of the Southern Alps. This site captures the very essence of alpine viticulture with its schist-rich soils, brisk night temperatures and long, sun-drenched days, all of which shape Pinot Noir with precision, perfume and structure.
Nanny Goat Vineyard is led by winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald, whose approach is all about letting the vineyard speak. For this single vineyard release, grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with a combination of wild and cultured yeasts. A portion of whole bunch is often included to enhance structure and aromatic complexity, and the wine is matured in a mix of new and seasoned French oak for around 10 months.
In the glass, the wine has clarity and lift, with aromas of dark cherry, redcurrant and crushed raspberry layered with wild thyme, rose petal and hints of flint. The palate is supple and sleek, with fine tannins and a mineral backbone that speaks to its elevated, schist-laden origins. You’ll find red fruit purity woven with notes of black tea, spice and forest floor. There’s vibrancy, but also depth, making this one of the more complete expressions of Central Otago Pinot Noir.
Drink now with a decant for early complexity, or cellar for up to 7 to 9 years to develop more savoury and tertiary nuance.
Ideal with duck breast, venison with cherry glaze, or a beetroot and goat cheese tart.
