Crisp, dry and refreshing riesling with lime, apricot, orange, green apple and a suggestion of oyster shell/mineral flavour. Bone-dry with slightly hard acidity. Should develop well with bottle age. 25 Nov 2022 Drink 2022–2030

Neudorf Rosie’s Block Moutere Dry Riesling is a vibrant and finely poised wine from one of New Zealand’s most respected organic producers. Grown in the clay gravels of the Moutere Hills in Nelson, the Rosie’s Block vineyard benefits from a coastal influence, warm days, and cool nights, producing Riesling with piercing purity, mineral tension and aromatic lift.
The winemaking, led by Todd Stevens, is gentle and transparent. The fruit is handpicked, whole bunch pressed, and fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel to preserve the variety’s natural vibrancy. A short period on lees adds subtle texture without sacrificing the wine’s focus and energy. This is dry Riesling with clarity and intent, expressive of both site and season.
Aromas leap from the glass with lemon zest, green apple, white peach and jasmine, backed by crushed rock and a touch of lime leaf. The palate is taut and racy, delivering citrus and stone fruit in a sleek, linear frame with saline edges and a dry, chalky finish. It’s a wine that hums with cool-climate precision and finishes clean and long.
Ideal with fresh oysters, green papaya salad, grilled calamari with chilli and lime, or a herbed goat cheese tart. It also works beautifully with spicy Thai or Vietnamese dishes. Best enjoyed in its youth for brightness, but will develop lovely complexity over 6 to 8 years.
