Because of its south and east exposure, Vau de Vey only gets the morning sun. It thus qualifies as a cool Climat, even more so due to the north wind that rushes into the valley. And the wines reflect this through their restraint, crispness and purity. Here there is a particularly thick layer of Kimmeridgian marl in the subsoil, while the extremely steep hillsides make machine access almost impossible in some places!
