Poderi Sanguineto is a small, family-run estate near Montepulciano that has remained almost unchanged for decades. Dora farms organically without certification, using no herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic inputs, simply because that is the way it has always been done. Her vines are old, deeply rooted in clay and limestone soils, and yields are kept low to maintain concentration and balance.

The winemaking is fiercely traditional. Grapes are hand harvested, naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, and aged in large old Slavonian oak botti. There is no filtration and no manipulation, allowing the wine to truly express the land and the vintage. 

In the glass, the Rosso di Montepulciano shows vibrant aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, wild herbs, leather, and earth. The palate is medium bodied and beautifully textured, with bright red fruit, savoury spice, fine dusty tannins, and a lively line of acidity that keeps the wine energetic and food friendly. It is rustic in the best sense—unpolished, real, and full of character.
