Restrained Barolo full of leafy lightness, lemon bush and fresh strawberries, red currants, fresh violets and spicy depth among tar, rhubarb and licorice. Quite full-bodied, velvety and refined with firm dusty, yet ripe tannins and refreshing acidity. Very focused and savory with a polished aftertaste. Drink or hold.

Coming from vineyards across Barolo, Monforte, Serralunga, and La Morra, the 2022 Barolo pours a bright ruby hue and reveals aromas of ripe raspberries, grenadine, pressed flowers, sweet tea leaf, and earthy undertones. The palate is medium-bodied, with broader, riper tannins, yet remains balanced and weightless with good freshness through the finish. It was destemmed and fermented in stainless steel before aging in large barrels. Drink this approachable Barolo over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2038.

Prunotto is one of Piedmont's historic names, founded in Alba in 1904 and today part of the Antinori family's distinguished portfolio. Over more than a century the winery has built a reputation for elegant, terroir driven wines that capture the character of the Langhe hills while remaining approachable and refined.
The Barolo Classico is sourced from selected vineyards across some of the appellation's finest communes, bringing together the perfume of La Morra, the structure of Serralunga and the finesse of Monforte in a harmonious expression of Nebbiolo. The calcareous marl soils and cool autumn conditions of Piedmont provide the perfect stage for one of Italy's greatest grape varieties.
The colour is a brilliant garnet red with youthful ruby highlights. Aromas of rose petals, red cherry and wild strawberry rise from the glass alongside notes of orange peel, liquorice and sweet spice. The palate is beautifully balanced, combining vibrant red fruits with fine tannins and bright acidity. Hints of tar, dried herbs and cedar emerge with air, while the finish remains long, savoury and unmistakably Barolo in style.
Wonderful with truffle risotto, braised beef cheek, duck ragù with pappardelle or porcini mushroom lasagne. While already approachable with a decant, the structure and pedigree suggest rewarding cellaring through to the 2040s.
