Founded in the early 20th century, Sobrero winery is a family-run estate with deep roots in Piedmont’s Langhe region. Known for their commitment to local traditions and sustainable practices, Sobrero has become respected for crafting wines that express the region’s character and typicity. The Langhe Bianco Chardonnay VII DOC represents Sobrero’s dedication to innovation while honoring the terroir of Langhe.
In appearance, a striking gold-tinged straw yellow, radiant and shimmering. A heady, generous bouquet, remarkably dense and complex, releases a broad spectrum of aromatics, notably yellow peach, citrus, and tropic fruit, with enticing nuances of fresh-mown hay, dried flowers, and acacia honey in the background. Running throughout is an intense minerally impression edged with gunflint. The palate has a rich, creamy, almost buttery, texture, showcasing an abundance of juicy fruit and an appealing vein of dried almond. A judicious acidity and a subtle, but constant thread of slaty mineraliness drive the progression and help create a finish that is lengthy, crisp, and delicious.
Serve cool, but not excessively cold. Ideal as an aperitif, as well as with cold antipasti, with first courses of pasta or risotto with fish or vegetables, and even with more complex dishes featuring seafood or light meats.
