2022 Stella Bella Otro Vino Chardonnay, Margaret River

The Otro Vino range offers good drinking without fussy winemaking inputs. This is a modest chardonnay by Margaret River and Stella Bella standards but delicious nonetheless. Some salted lemon, grapefruit, tropical fruit like fresh pineapple, yet the talc-like acidity is lovely, adding texture and a certain depth.

Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, 100% wild fermented in 5+ year old French oak barriques for 3 months (1 month in tank), to ensure a pure fruit flavour. No fining and filtration.

Elegant, textural and a bit wild. Focused fruit is bound by texture and stimulates the palate. Aromas of baths salts, lanoline and green mango are backed up by the Mendoza clone punch. Chalky texture and an all-natural acid create tension and drive the palate.
