2022 The Lane Shiraz, Adelaide Hills

Deep ruby red hue. Fragrant nose of mulberry, black pepper and candied violets. Pretty and floral on entry then a deeper purple fruit profile emerges along with an undertone of bloody minerality. Tannins work finely, drying and driving while a subtle lift of acidity brings a freshness and keeps the palate in the medium weight spectrum. Great length and poise to the finish. Drink to 2035.

The Lane Vineyard is a family-owned Adelaide Hills property established in 1993. With an elevation of 370 to 450 metres, its Balhannah vineyards are divided across numerous parcels, each offering differing aspects of the rolling hills of ancient gravelly soils, while fruit is also sourced from other growers in the broader region.

The business is certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, which looks at all aspects of wine production from vineyards to winery, and encapsulates protection of local bushland and wildlife.
