2022 Tiefenbrunner Merus Chardonnay, Alto Adige

The Tiefenbrunner Merus Chardonnay from Alto Adige is a premium expression of the region's exceptional terroir. Located in the northernmost part of Italy, Alto Adige (or South Tyrol) is known for its diverse microclimates and high-altitude vineyards, making it ideal for producing wines of great complexity and finesse. The Tiefenbrunner family, with a long history of winemaking in the region, has been producing wines that showcase the distinct characteristics of Alto Adige for generations. Crafted from carefully selected grapes grown at high elevations, benefiting from cool nights and sunny days. The grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in French oak barrels to impart both freshness and subtle complexity. This approach helps preserve the Chardonnay's natural crispness while adding layers of richness and texture. 

Made entirely from Chardonnay, this opens with aromas of toasted oak, yellow apple, and roasted hazelnut. The round medium-bodied palate delivers mature Abate Fetel pear, toasted walnut and a hint of ginger. Fresh acidity lifts the lingering finish.
