I seem to recall that Tim Adams was an early adopter of pinot gris and something of a champion of the variety. Always good news. The wine hits the glass with a gentle pinky-orange hue, suggesting some skin contact in winemaking, and certainly the more opulent, fleshy texture backs that up. It's a very good expression, with lots of ripe pear perfume, quince, ginger and brioche. The palate similarly layered with pear, quince, ginger and yeasty savouriness, and while rich, finds a nice grip and pucker in the cool finish. Spot on.
