55/40/5% cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc blend/petit verdot. The majority comes off the original dry-grown 1963 plantings. As fragrant and elegant as ever with its aromas of red cherries, cassis, violets and just a little cigar box. It's fragrant in the mouth, too, with these gently chewy and persistent tannins giving the wine its shape and structure. Gorgeous from go to woe.
