From vines originally planted in 1983. This has weight and flesh, a potent expression of chardonnay that feels opulent yet fresh, rich and round, smooth and sumptuous. Rich stone fruit scents, some vanilla cream, touches of cinnamon and clove with nougat highlights. There's plenty to sink one's teeth into in the palate, supple stone fruit and rockmelon flavours, subtle almond and vanilla, a touch of honey butter and a good dose of sweet spice. All this and a sense of vibrancy in tow. Quietly complex and offering up an old-school, good-school kind of style, with cellaring potential for a butter-honey offering very much in mind.

Geoff Weaver is that rarest of creatures, a winemaker of quiet modesty. He has always allowed his wines to speak for him, and they do so with a graceful eloquence. Working with one of the original vineyards on the cool slopes around Lenswood, Weaver etches a wine of delicate stonefruit and citrus, with a fine seam of grilled nut and nougat. A lovely line of minerally acidity wraps it neatly through the finish.

Geoff Weaver Lenswood Chardonnay from Adelaide Hills is a beautifully refined and expressive cool-climate Chardonnay, crafted by veteran winemaker Geoff Weaver. With decades of experience and a deep understanding of the Lenswood terroir, Weaver produces wines that capture the region’s crisp acidity, elegant structure, and unmistakable finesse. Sourced from the steep, high-altitude slopes of Lenswood, this Chardonnay is all about purity, precision, and seamless balance.
Pale gold in color with a brilliant sheen, this wine opens with layered aromas of white peach, lemon curd, and nectarine, interwoven with hints of flinty minerality, toasted hazelnut, and subtle oak spice. The palate is beautifully structured, offering a vibrant core of citrus and stone fruit, complemented by creamy texture and a bright line of acidity. A whisper of smoky oak adds depth without overpowering the fruit, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish with lingering notes of grapefruit zest and roasted almond.
This Chardonnay is a perfect match for grilled lobster, roast chicken with tarragon butter, or creamy saffron risotto. It also pairs beautifully with soft cheeses and delicate seafood dishes. While already drinking superbly, it has the structure to develop further complexity over the next 5–10 years, gaining richer nutty and toasty characteristics with time.
Geoff Weaver’s meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking ensures that Lenswood Chardonnay stands among the finest expressions of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay—a wine of elegance, depth, and exceptional balance.
