A mid-weighted, palpably dry expression that is searingly regional: pithy of texture with riffs on Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit, spa salts and a splay of talcy freshness mingled with yuzu and makrut lime. The wont here is intense flavours and penetrative length. Conventional, I suppose, yet impressively so. Prodigiously long and saliva-sapping juicy. Time on lees has imparted breadth, a dollop of imperceivable sweetness and poise. Very good.

Weaver Lenswood Sauvignon Blanc from Adelaide Hills is a standout example of cool-climate Australian Sauvignon Blanc, consistently ranked among the region’s finest. Crafted by the Weaver family, known for their deep commitment to quality and sustainability, this wine reflects the high-altitude terroir of Lenswood, where crisp nights and long, sunny days allow for slow ripening and exceptional flavor development.
Pale straw in color with a hint of green, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with an intensely aromatic bouquet of citrus blossom, fresh lime, and white peach, layered with notes of passionfruit, lemongrass, and a subtle touch of wet stone. The palate is electric and precise, delivering vibrant flavors of grapefruit, green apple, and guava, balanced by zesty acidity and a fine mineral thread. A long, refreshing finish leaves lingering notes of fresh herbs and saline complexity.
This Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect match for freshly shucked oysters, grilled prawns, and vibrant Thai or Vietnamese dishes. It also pairs beautifully with goat cheese, citrus-dressed salads, and herb-roasted chicken. While stunning in its youth for its purity and intensity, it will continue to evolve over the next few years, gaining further texture and depth.
Weaver Lenswood Sauvignon Blanc is a true benchmark for the variety, combining brightness, precision, and elegance, solidifying its place as one of the greats from Adelaide Hills.
