Co-fermented with 3% viognier; matured in 20% new French oak. A deep, plummy red. Bright and perfumed. Black and blue fruited, there's some licorice and tapenade to go with the viognier-induced florals. Medium bodied, this flows evenly across the palate with superfine, persistent tannins giving the wine enough structure to still be looking good five to seven years from now. Drink 2023 to 2030.

Raspberry jam and chantilly cream, rose petals, cedar and spice, with developing notes of pot-pourri and Napa leather. The palate is ripe, elegant but generous, juicy and layered, with sawdusty tannins that provide structure without overpowering. Savoury and grippy on the finish, showing depth and refinement. Drink 2026 to 2032.

Aromas of Damson plums, violets, wild blackberries, pepper and graphite. The palate is full-bodied with firmly integrated tannins and acidity, giving notes of dark cherries, mulberries, spices and dried herbs. Fruit-driven with a savory edge. Drink or hold.

Yering Station stands on the site of Victoria’s first vineyard, planted in 1838 in the upper parts of the Yarra Valley. Under chief winemaker Brendan Hawker, the estate produces wines across several tiers that draw on the cool climate and elevation of a region known for wines of natural freshness and finesse.
The 2022 season presented a range of challenges for viticulture across the Yarra Valley. The harvest was small due to a rainy and miserable spring that impacted flowering. The overall quality on the other hand was high thanks to a cool and dry autumn. The Yarra Valley wines from this year are often perfumed and supported by good natural acidity.
This wine is made from fruit grown in the estate vineyards, with the two varieties co-fermented before maturation in predominantly seasoned French oak. It continues a long line of vintages that position Shiraz Viognier wines as the defining expression of Yering Station.
Bright and perfumed floral aromas complement black and blue fruits on the nose, framed by oak-derived cedar and spice, and whiffs of liquorice, pepper and graphite. The palate is medium bodied, with good density and generous layered fruit and fine tannins that will provide the wine with support to develop further. Long finish with a savoury herbal edge.
