Barringwood vineyard is located on a steep north facing slope overlooking the Don Valley in Tasmania's central North. Established in 1993 the vineyard rises to an elevation of 280m and has one of the longest growing seasons in Tasmania giving their wines delicacy, elegance and immense complexity as well as a distinct backbone of cool climate acidity.
Bright plum, with pinking edges. The wine has a nose of cherries and violets with a dusting of vanilla gives way to earthy undertones. Palate is light-bodied. It opens up with bright fruit and mellows to savoury spicy characters.
Barringwood Estate Pinot Noir is a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes. It’s an excellent match for roasted poultry, such as duck or chicken, as well as grilled salmon or tuna. The wine’s earthy notes also complement mushroom-based dishes, truffle-infused foods, and herb-crusted lamb.
Tasmania’s cool climate and unique terroir are ideally suited for growing Pinot Noir. The region’s long, cool growing season allows the grapes to ripen slowly, developing intense flavors while retaining natural acidity. The diverse soils, including volcanic and sandstone types, contribute to the wine’s minerality and structure. Barringwood Estate Pinot Noir is a true reflection of Tasmania’s exceptional ability to produce world-class Pinot Noir.
