The aromas of freshly baked brioche are captivating, giving way to yellow plum, bruléed orange slices and notes of Elderflower honey on the nose. The flavors on the palate are sugared lemon rind, baked pear, Pink Lady apple with yeasty medium mousse and a mineral dry finish.

Chardonnay has been a cornerstone of the Bogle family portfolio for decades, helping establish the winery as one of California's most reliable sources of quality and value. The family has farmed the fertile lands of the Sacramento Delta since the 1800s, with the winery itself founded in 1968. Today, Warren Bogle and the winemaking team continue that legacy, crafting approachable, flavour packed wines that reflect California's generous sunshine and abundant fruit.

The 2023 vintage delivered beautifully ripe Chardonnay fruit, allowing the winery to create a style that balances richness with freshness. Fermentation and maturation in a combination of oak and stainless steel help preserve fruit purity while adding texture and complexity. The result is a Chardonnay that comfortably bridges the gap between classic buttery California Chardonnay and a fresher, more contemporary expression.

Bright golden straw in colour, the aromas reveal ripe peach, nectarine and baked apple layered with hints of vanilla bean, toasted almond and crème brûlée. Subtle notes of pineapple, citrus curd and baking spice add further depth. The texture is smooth and generous, carrying flavours of stone fruits, lemon cream and melon across the palate. Gentle oak influence contributes a creamy richness without overwhelming the fruit, while fresh acidity provides balance and lift through the finish.

This style works beautifully with roast chicken stuffed with herbs, grilled lobster with garlic butter, pumpkin ravioli with sage, corn and crab chowder or a golden leek and gruyère tart. Drinking wonderfully now, it will continue to develop additional complexity over the next three to five years. Generous, comforting and packed with flavour, it showcases why California Chardonnay remains one of the world's most popular wine styles.
