Bream Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir offers a beautifully expressive and finely tuned glimpse into cool-climate winemaking from Tasmania’s stunning east coast. The vineyard, perched above Marion Bay, is one of the island’s most established sites, originally planted in the early 1970s and revitalised under the stewardship of Fred Peacock, a viticultural trailblazer with a deep understanding of Tasmania’s growing conditions. The combination of coastal breezes, long sunshine hours, and low-yielding vines on free-draining soils results in fruit with purity, vibrancy and layered complexity.

This Pinot Noir is crafted to showcase varietal expression and site rather than overt winemaking trickery. Fermentation takes place in small batches, often with a portion of whole bunches for added structure and spice. Maturation occurs in a mix of new and seasoned French oak barriques, adding texture without overshadowing the fruit. The focus is on elegance, balance and fine detail.

In the glass, it opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and cranberry, backed by subtle notes of rose petal, baking spice, dried herbs and underbrush. The palate is silky and medium-bodied with a line of bright acidity, fine tannins and a savoury edge that brings tension and drive. There’s a lovely interplay between fruit and earth, with just a whisper of oak adding polish.

This is a Pinot that pairs beautifully with duck spring rolls, mushroom risotto, roast pork with fennel, or grilled ocean trout with caper butter. Enjoy it now for its brightness and perfume, or cellar it for five to eight years to reveal deeper spice and forest-floor nuance.

Bream Creek has earned a loyal following for its honest, site-driven wines, and this Pinot Noir is a hallmark of that approach. It’s refined but never austere, vibrant without being overdone—a classic cool-climate Pinot that reflects both its place and the quiet confidence of a seasoned winemaker.
