Cave de Turckheim Tradition Riesling from Alsace is a pure, vibrant and finely structured white wine that showcases the precision and mineral beauty for which Alsace Riesling is renowned. Produced by one of the region’s leading cooperatives, this wine reflects the collective expertise of Turckheim’s growers, whose vineyards are nestled at the foot of the Vosges Mountains. The cool climate, varied soils and long ripening season of this part of Alsace bring incredible aromatic intensity, freshness and poise to the wine.

The Riesling grapes are sourced from hillside vineyards around the village of Turckheim, where a mix of granite, clay and limestone soils adds both tension and complexity. The grapes are hand picked and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to preserve their delicate aromatics and natural acidity. The wine then rests on its fine lees before bottling, which enhances mouthfeel and texture while maintaining clarity and purity.

In the glass it appears pale straw with green tinges. The aroma is lifted and precise, offering lemon zest, lime blossom and green apple alongside notes of jasmine, flint and wet stone. On the palate it is dry, crisp and elegant, with flavours of citrus, pear and mineral balanced by bright acidity. The texture is smooth and refined, leading to a long, saline finish that leaves a lingering impression of freshness and precision.

This Riesling pairs beautifully with oysters, grilled prawns, sushi, or dishes featuring lime, ginger or lemongrass. It also suits Alsatian classics such as tarte flambée and choucroute garnie. While delightful in its youth, it will age gracefully for up to ten years, developing honeyed and petrol notes with time.
