A full-bodied, distinctive style, with bitter orange and spiced apple wafting with smoke and salt. The supple palate, broad and fleshy, is reined in by succulent acidity that revs up the energy. Bitter mineral elements ground the substantial, smoky finish, which stretches out with notes of toast and marzipan. Serious and delicious. Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Drink now through 2027

Clos Sainte Magdeleine Rosé from Côtes de Provence is a cult favourite among lovers of elegant, mineral-driven rosé. Produced from one of Provence’s most breathtaking coastal vineyards, perched above the Mediterranean in Cassis, it reflects the purity and finesse that have made Clos Sainte Magdeleine one of France’s most revered estates. Fourth-generation vigneron Jonathan Sack continues the family’s legacy of crafting wines of precision and grace, all certified organic and deeply connected to their maritime terroir.

The wine is composed mainly of Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre, with a touch of Syrah, grown on limestone terraces that plunge dramatically toward the sea. The proximity to the ocean moderates the heat of southern Provence, ensuring slow, even ripening and bright natural acidity. After gentle pressing, fermentation occurs at cool temperatures in stainless steel, preserving fragrance and texture while highlighting the subtle salinity that defines this site.

In the glass it gleams the palest coral pink. The aroma is fresh and expressive, offering wild strawberry, white peach, and orange zest, lifted by floral and mineral notes that evoke sea spray and crushed stone. The palate is delicate yet persistent, showing layers of red berry, melon, and citrus balanced by savoury undertones and a long, saline finish. It’s pure Mediterranean elegance — understated, soulful, and effortlessly sophisticated.

Perfect with oysters, grilled fish, bouillabaisse, or summer salads, it’s also sublime on its own. While delicious young for its brightness, it develops beautifully for several years, gaining complexity and creaminess.
