From vines planted between '79 and '96. Barrel fermented and matured with partial mlf. A bright gold with green tinges. An attractive bouquet with gentle stone fruits, pear skin, a little pink grapefruit and a light touch of grilled nuts. The palate is understated, chalky textured and well structured. Expect it to open up and blossom nicely over the next six to 12 months.

From the elevated slopes of the Moorabool Valley in Geelong comes a Chardonnay that reflects both estate pedigree and cool climate finesse. Clyde Park, established in the 1970s, is one of Geelong’s benchmark producers, known for low yielding vines and meticulous vineyard management. The estate sits on volcanic soils layered with loam, where maritime breezes and a long, even growing season allow Chardonnay to ripen slowly, building flavour while preserving natural acidity. The Single Chardonnay captures the purity and structure that have made this site so highly regarded.
Pale straw with a bright green hue, the aromatics are refined and expressive. White peach, nectarine and lemon zest lift from the glass, layered with grapefruit pith, roasted cashew and a subtle flinty edge. There is a mineral freshness that speaks of the Moorabool Valley’s volcanic origins.
On the palate it is medium to full bodied and beautifully balanced. Stone fruit and citrus glide across a backbone of vibrant acidity, supported by a creamy mid palate shaped by thoughtful lees work and discreet oak. The finish is long, focused and mineral driven, lingering with lemon curd and toasted almond notes. It delivers both texture and tension in a polished Geelong style.
Pair with grilled scallops, roast chicken with thyme, lobster with herb butter or mushroom risotto. Delicious now for its vibrancy and balance, it will cellar confidently for eight to twelve years, developing nutty complexity and greater depth over time.
