Trophy for Best Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio Mornington Peninsula Wine Show 2023 for third-year running
Crittenden is on a roll when it comes to tip-top pinot gris. Here’s another vintage, another very good rendition. This is a little soft, with layers of flavour from baked pears, fresh nashi, ginger fluff cake and creamy lees. The palate is feathery-fine although bolstered by the lees and ageing in some French oak, and there’s a delicious honeycomb flavour too.

Pale straw. The nose is subtle and seductive, combining clever winemaking with excellent varietal identity. Pear, spiced apple, leesy and waxy notes combine seamlessly, with lightly smoky oak acting to unify, season and build texture. Flavour is vibrant, long and elegant. 30 JAN 2024 Drink 2024–2028
