A bright, perfumed grenache, shiraz and mataro blend from a vineyard on Seppeltsfield Road in the Barossa Valley. There's a raspberry edge to the fruit this year. Under that you'll find satsuma plum, blueberry and boysenberry with layers of spice and hints of biltong, dried citrus rind, citrus blossom, gingerbread, char siu and warm earth. Medium bodied with a savoury lean to the pure, ripe fruits, plenty of spice, fine, sandy tannins and abundant energy and zip.

From the historic vineyards of the Barossa Valley comes a vibrant Rhône inspired blend that captures both richness and balance. Dandelion Vineyards was founded by winemaker Elena Brooks and her husband Zar Brooks, with a focus on old vine parcels across South Australia. Elena, originally from Bulgaria and trained in both Australia and Europe, has built a reputation for expressive wines that highlight individual vineyard character. The Menagerie of the Barossa is a classic Grenache Shiraz Mataro blend drawn from mature Barossa vineyards planted on sandy loam and iron rich soils, delivering both generosity and savoury complexity.
Deep ruby with purple flashes, the aromatics are lifted and inviting. Ripe raspberry and red cherry from the Grenache mingle with dark plum and blackberry from the Shiraz, while Mataro adds savoury depth. Notes of white pepper, dried herbs and subtle spice weave through the bouquet, reflecting both the old vines and the warmth of the Barossa.
On the palate it is medium to full bodied with a beautifully rounded texture. Juicy red and dark berry fruit sit at the centre, supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity that keep the wine lively. Layers of spice, cocoa and gentle oak unfold through the mid palate, finishing long and savoury with lingering cherry and pepper notes. It is a generous yet composed expression of the classic Barossa GSM style.
Pair with slow roasted lamb shoulder, grilled sausages, smoky barbecue dishes or Mediterranean vegetable plates. Delicious now for its fruit richness and warmth, it will cellar comfortably for eight to twelve years, gaining further savoury complexity with time.
