Beautiful acidity balanced by the ripeness given by this very dry vintage which is particularly successful in the piquepoul. The nose is expressive, floral on acacia, lily and lemon blossom. The palate is tender, tangy and succulent.
To be enjoyed with seafood, for an aperitif or with a seafood platter, cooked oysters and sushi, scallops, grilled prawns or lobster.
The Picpoul grapes are grown in the South of France on the Mediterranean coast near the town of Sete and the wine is seen as an ideal match to the local oysters that are grown in the Thau lagoon right near the vineyards.
With a name that translates to 'lip stinger’ to describe the racy acidity in the wine, you can see why the variety is becoming so popular to match not only with oysters but all types of fresh seafood.
