2023 Elio Grasso Nebbiolo Langhe Organic, Piedmont

This is 100% Nebbiolo, all from vineyards that could be used for Barolo.

Planted in 1987 this is the youngest Nebbiolo vineyard on the estate, together with some recent plantings of Runcot. Almost 400 m of altitude the soil is a limestone /clay blend. After crushing the wine spends 32 days on skins before maturing in stainless steel only.

Crushed flowers and bright cherry fruit on the nose, the palate comes together as an inviting, mid-weight Nebbiolo. Classy and polished the wine drinks superbly well already but has great potential to age as well.
