Lush, tree-ripened white peach, pear and Gala apple flavours make this gently luscious wine very appealing. Great varietal definition. 05 Jan 2024 Drink 2024–2027

A very tempting dry expression of Gris with core flavours of fresh and preserved apples and pears, there’s a light cider and sweet lager quality note highlighting the use of lees, there’s also a light citrus quality adding breadth across the flavour spectrum. Moderately weighted with medium+ acid line, some tension from the phenolics accentuating the citrus and youthful side of the wine, and fruit flavours along with spice notes that bring together the wines attributes very nicely. Well made, a food wine with best drinking from 2023 through 2026.

Framingham Pinot Gris from Marlborough is a vibrant and expressive cool-climate white wine, crafted by a winery known for its meticulous vineyard management and hands-on winemaking. Framingham’s organic vineyards in Wairau Valley, with their free-draining alluvial soils and cool coastal breezes, provide the perfect conditions for Pinot Gris to thrive, resulting in a wine that balances ripe fruit, refreshing acidity, and subtle complexity.
In the glass, it shines pale gold with silver highlights. The nose is beautifully aromatic, offering notes of ripe pear, white peach, and red apple, layered with hints of honeysuckle, lemon zest, and a touch of spice. A delicate mineral edge adds freshness and depth.
On the palate, Framingham Pinot Gris is medium-bodied and textured, with juicy stone fruit and citrus flavors framed by crisp acidity and a fine, chalky minerality. Subtle notes of almond, ginger, and a whisper of honey add complexity, while the finish is long, refreshing, and clean, leaving lingering hints of pear and citrus zest.
This Pinot Gris is incredibly food-friendly, pairing effortlessly with grilled seafood, roast chicken, or creamy pasta dishes. It also complements Asian-inspired fare, soft cheeses, and vibrant salads. While delicious now, it has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 3–5 years, gaining further complexity while retaining its vibrant core.
Framingham Pinot Gris is more than just a refreshing white—it’s a testament to Marlborough’s ability to produce expressive, terroir-driven wines with both charm and character.
