From the marl and sandstone hills of Friuli, this Friulano reflects the quiet confidence and old vine focus that define i Clivi’s style. The Galea vineyard is worked with minimal intervention, allowing soil, elevation and season to shape a wine built on texture, savoury detail and natural balance. Friulano thrives here, delivering subtle aromatics, gentle grip and a distinct almond tinged character that is a signature of the variety and the region.
Pale straw in colour, the aromas are refined and understated, showing pear, white peach and apple skin, layered with chamomile, almond meal and a subtle stony note. The palate is medium bodied and beautifully textured, with orchard fruit supported by bright acidity and a gentle phenolic edge that adds structure and food friendly appeal. There is a saline, mineral thread through the finish that gives length and a true sense of place.
Superb with prosciutto, grilled seafood, veal, risotto, fresh cheeses and herb driven dishes. Drinking well now for its texture and savoury charm, it will also develop added nutty and honeyed complexity over five to eight years.
