From the lieu-dit Les Crais. 50-year-old vines on a lyre trellis. 10–15% whole bunch. Bottled in June.
Mid-pale ruby. Quite floral red fruits on the nose and palate. Very balanced with a savoury depth and interest on the back palate. (MH)

Jane Eyre Auxey-Duresses Rouge is a beautifully detailed and expressive Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s rising star winemakers. Auxey-Duresses, tucked into a side valley just west of Meursault, often flies under the radar, but in the hands of Jane Eyre it delivers elegance, minerality, and purity that rivals its more famous neighbours—all with a quiet, confident charm.
Australian-born and now firmly rooted in Burgundy, Jane Eyre has built a reputation for crafting wines that are sensitive, site-driven, and finely textured. Her approach in the cellar is gentle and minimal—whole berry and partial whole bunch fermentation, wild yeasts, low sulphur, and restrained oak use—allowing the vineyard to speak with clarity and grace.
Sourced from sustainably farmed parcels in Auxey-Duresses, the wine is vinified with a focus on finesse over force. It spends around 12 months in French oak, with a small percentage of new barrels, to bring subtle complexity without overshadowing the delicate red fruit and savoury character of the site.
In the glass, this wine shows lifted aromas of red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, and a whisper of spice and forest floor. The palate is silky and medium bodied, with a fine acid line, chalky tannins, and a long, mineral driven finish. It’s a Pinot Noir of quiet confidence and precise detail, ideal for lovers of Burgundy with a sense of elegance and restraint.
Perfect with duck, grilled mushrooms, or roast chicken with herbs, Jane Eyre Auxey-Duresses Rouge is a wine that reflects thoughtful winemaking and an honest connection to place.
