From 43 to 68 year old vines mostly located near the top of the vineyard. 2023 was a warmer than average vintage delivering surprising freshness for this outstanding Grand Cru vineyard which is home to the famous ‘Clos St Hune’ Riesling from Trimbach. Yield of just 40 hl/ha in the 2023 vintage resulted in this wine of great intensity, finesse and shape with rich, intense citrus fruit with notes of minerality and outstanding length. The wine’s great depth of fruit, structure and minerally acidity ensures that 15 years or more of careful cellaring would be well repaid.
13.35 % Alc/Vol; 0.5 g/L RS; 6.49g/L TA.

Rosacker is one of Alsace's most revered Grand Cru vineyards, a site long celebrated for producing Rieslings of elegance, minerality and extraordinary longevity. Situated above the picturesque village of Hunawihr, the vineyard's limestone rich soils and sheltered position create ideal conditions for slow, even ripening. Jean Luc Mader has spent generations working these prized slopes, crafting wines that faithfully express the character of one of the region's great terroirs.

The 2023 vintage delivered fruit of exceptional purity and balance, allowing the vineyard's distinctive personality to shine. Rosacker is renowned for producing Rieslings that combine aromatic intensity with precision and structure, qualities that are clearly evident in this release. Careful vineyard management and sensitive winemaking preserve freshness while building depth and complexity.

Pale gold with brilliant green highlights, the bouquet is intensely aromatic, revealing aromas of lime blossom, lemon zest and white peach layered with notes of jasmine, wet stone and citrus oil. As the wine evolves in the glass, hints of pear, grapefruit and subtle spice emerge, adding further intrigue. The palate is beautifully focused, delivering layers of citrus, stone fruit and mineral flavours supported by vibrant acidity and a powerful limestone backbone. There is impressive concentration without heaviness, leading to a long, dry finish filled with citrus, floral and stony nuances.

This is a magnificent partner for lobster, grilled scallops, roast pork, smoked trout, sushi or an aged Comté. While already captivating, the structure and pedigree of this Grand Cru Riesling will reward patient cellaring for many years to come.
