2023 Jim Barry Assyrtiko, Clare Valley

The palate shows powerful fruit weight with generous fruit flavours, and a clean acid line. A very long drive with slight salinity on the finish. This could be the best Assyrtiko we’ve produced yet.

This divine Aussie white offers all of the typicity and complexity that you’d expect from an Assyrtiko but this wine is also reminiscent of a crisp Riesling. You can expect razor-sharp acidity, a moderate body and lashings of zingy citrus fruit: lemon, lime and grapefruit. There are also hints of peach, honeydew melon, white flowers and honey, underlined by a steely streak of minerality.
