2023 Kalleske Parallax Grenache, Barossa Valley

Such a wild-smelling wine. Super stemmy and bunchy. It looks almost pinot-esque as you pour it from the glass. You take a sniff and POW! It's a riot of souk-like spice, dried meats, red and blue fruits, amaro herbs and all manner of floral facets fluttering around the glass. Medium bodied with chalky tannins and a fair bit of funk in the trunk with gamey tones and a wicked spice and floral plume on the exit. This and some charcuterie and you're off to the races.

2023 Parallax is luminous cherry-red in colour. Aromatically it is bright and fresh.  Super-inviting notes of flower garden, crushed raspberry, white pepper spice, strawberry, red licorice and thyme, These lively characters continue to the light and bright palate.  Superbly juicy, oozing with crunchy fresh red fruits.  Cherry, strawberry and a touch of herb.  Naturally chalky tannins give structure. A stalky edge is evident giving frame to the vibrant fruits. Whilst light and lively throughout, the depth and interest of flavour makes for a compelling wine, completed with a long finish.
