In tank for fining and filtering to bottle in mid-May. Lemon yellow with a green tint. Fresh fruit aromatics, apples in particular. Then fleshier on the palate, lowish but adequate acidity. Juicy and attractive, to drink early.

Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Villages is a beautifully fresh and expressive white Burgundy from the Mâconnais, crafted by Dominique Lafon’s southern Burgundy estate. This wine is sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards across several communes, offering a snapshot of the broader Mâcon terroir with its limestone-rich soils and cool climate influence.
It’s vinified with the same precision and low-intervention approach that defines all Lafon wines. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in stainless steel to preserve brightness and aromatics, and the wine is aged briefly on fine lees for texture and depth without overt richness.
The nose is delicate and lifted, with notes of lemon peel, white blossom, green apple and a faint chalky edge. The palate is light to medium bodied, crisp and pure, showing flavours of citrus, pear and crushed stone. It finishes with vibrant acidity and a mineral-laced finish that keeps it lively and clean.
Food pairing: ideal with fresh oysters, grilled white fish, herbed goat cheese, vegetable tarts or a light chicken salad. Also lovely with shellfish pasta or simple cheeses.
Cellar potential: designed to drink young and fresh, though it will hold well for 3 to 5 years and gain a little more texture and savoury nuance with time.
