"83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot,6% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot.

Black and blue fruit, Guylian praliné seashells, some cedar and spice, mint, with a dried flower perfume. It’s medium-bodied, again something of that hazelnut chocolate, a seaweed savoury element, tannin has a light grainy grip, and the finish is a little bit toasty and pretty long. It’s a nice wine."

93 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

This is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, malbec and merlot. In a good year like this one, it offers some of the best value classy red wine going around. This is as good as any in this line. Plush red fruit of tremendous intensity. A firm core of tannin and oak holds it firm as the succulent fruit washes through. Such energy and vibrancy.

Planted in 1969 Moss Wood is an important, founding estate of the Margaret River wine region, located in the northern sub–region of Wilyabrup, Western Australia. Clare & Keith Mugford, as winemakers, viticulturalists & proprietors, have been making wine & tending the vineyard at Moss Wood since 1984 & 1979, respectively. Their exacting viticulture ensures the production of grapes of excellent quality & they have created a stable of fine wines distinguished by their consistency over each vintage & their ability to age superbly.

Who is 'Amy' - In 1997, Clare and Keith negotiated a 3 year contract to buy the fruit from the “Glenmore Vineyard” owned by Amy Beers, the grandmother of Ian Bell who still owns and managed the vineyard.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot

Deep, brick red; bright condition. The nose is a lifted expression of all of the varieties in the blend. The Merlot contributes rich blackcurrant notes while Malbec brings in watermelon aromas. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominates with heaped dollops of blueberry and red currants. As the wine begins to relax in the glass, the textural charry and chocolatey notes begin to materialize. Carrying over from the nose the blueberries and red currants make their presence felt. The firm tannin structure is accented by the generosity of a full body mid-palate. The acidity has a gentle linearity which pairs nicely with texture derived from the in French Oak. The youthful vibrancy and liveliness of the fruit weight make this wine very appealing and should be enjoyed young
