Taut, vibrant chardonnay with pronounced oyster shell/saline, hazelnut and subtle nutty oak flavours. Impressive purity and power with good cellaring potential although it can certainly be appreciated now 28 Apr 2024 Drink 2024–2030

Preserved lemon rind, golden apple and pear skin. Chalkboard dust and honeysuckle. A leisurely pace to the palate with orchard fruit flesh ripe and backed by savoury roast cashew nuttiness. Oak influence sidles up to the fruit, complementary and without imposing too much force. This is confident and assured chardonnay and quite obviously a nifty little gateway wine into the settled nature of Neudorf. Smart indeed.

Comes from sites within the Moutere Hills, including the young vines at Neudorf’s own Rosie’s Block. Classically Neudorf, in restraint and modernity, Tiritiri is a Chardonnay lover’s package. A balanced collaboration of fruit, oak, acidity and finesse. The wine from nose to palate is generous without ever being overblown. There’s a warm familiarity of juicy, summer fruits intertwined with sea-air minerality. Todd’s use of oak frames the wine guiding it gently, without demanding attention. All elements are laced together with a fine strand of acidity on the back palate, leaving a long, refreshing and moreish finish.
