50/43/7% semillon/sauvignon blanc/chardonnay. There’s a lot of energy and drive to this blend – it works so well. Enticing with its lemon-lime flavours, lemon zest and freshly sliced ginger/galangal. Some texture across the otherwise linear palate, electrifying acidity seals the deal.

It’s Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, with a little touch of Chardonnay.
Lime, lime rind, white pepper, aniseed, sweet snapped snow pea, some cream and spice. It’s bright, pops with mixed citrus of some sweetness and intensity, has some flinty texture, a kiss of dried herbs, a subtle saline character, and finishes long and crisp. Such a pleasing and refreshing wine. Lovely.

Pale lemon to straw yellow colour. Smoked honey, lemon zest and turmeric aromatics. Solid core of citrus fruit, notable in its intensity and drive. Dry spices and nutty undertones all add compelling character and it flows very long 27 DEC 2023 Drink 2024–2030

A light dry wine, delicious when young but has the capacity and backbone to mature and develop in the bottle. Flavours of citrus, pear, green apple, melon and tropical fruit. Fresh, crisp and dry with both complexity and elegance. An ideal accompaniment to seafood and white meat dishes.
Mike Pertikin produced the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc in Margaret River in 1979 when he was making wine for Kevin and Di Cullen. That wine was labelled Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and sold as such. Dr Peterkin never claimed any originality for the idea, he simply borrowed it from the French. What he did do was create a new style which emphasized aroma, freshness and fruit character. He believes that this was the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc produced in Australia.
