From the Willowlake vineyard in the Upper Yarra. Attractive and focused aromas of ripe, white peach, a little honeysuckle and grilled nuts. This all flows through nicely onto the gently fleshy and tensile palate. This should age effortlessly over the next three to five years.

From the cool, rolling vineyards of the Yarra Valley, Rob Dolan’s White Label range is all about clarity, balance and drinkability. The estate has built a strong reputation for reliable, well made wines that overdeliver, and this Chardonnay sits right in that sweet spot between freshness and gentle complexity.
The 2023 opens bright and inviting, white peach, nectarine and citrus peel with a light touch of cashew and a hint of spice. It feels clean and precise, with just enough detail to keep things interesting.
There’s a nice flow through the glass, stone fruit and citrus moving easily, with a soft, creamy edge from time on lees. Acidity keeps everything in check, giving a fresh, lifted feel, while a subtle oak influence adds a touch of texture and warmth without taking over.
This is a versatile one at the table. Grilled chicken, seafood, or a simple pasta with lemon and herbs all work beautifully, but it also handles dishes like roast pumpkin with yoghurt and spices or a corn and zucchini fritter with ease.
Drinking beautifully now, showing all its charm and balance, and will hold over the next few years.
There’s an easy confidence here, a Chardonnay that does exactly what you want it to, fresh, balanced and quietly satisfying.
