Blackberry dark cherry spice and refined Eden Valley elegance with old vine intensity.
Sons of Eden is the acclaimed partnership of winemaker Corey Ryan and viticulturist Simon Cowham, whose deep understanding of the Barossa's diverse sub regions has earned the winery a reputation for wines of purity, balance and regional expression. Remus is sourced from exceptional old vine Shiraz vineyards in Eden Valley, where elevation, ancient soils and vine age combine to produce a wine of remarkable fragrance, finesse and longevity.
The 2023 vintage provided near ideal growing conditions, allowing the old vines to ripen slowly and evenly while retaining the freshness that defines Eden Valley Shiraz. Matured in carefully selected French oak, the wine captures the elegance of its cool climate origins without sacrificing depth or concentration.
The colour is a deep crimson with vibrant purple hues. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and wild blueberry are lifted by violet, cracked pepper, star anise and fragrant sage. The palate is beautifully refined, combining layers of dark berry fruit with fine spice, dark chocolate and subtle cedar. Silky tannins and bright natural acidity bring energy and precision, while a lingering mineral thread carries the wine through a long, graceful finish.
A superb partner for roast lamb with rosemary, grilled venison, slow braised beef cheeks, charred eggplant with smoked yoghurt or mature Gouda. Enjoy now after decanting or cellar confidently for fifteen to twenty years as further complexity and savoury nuance emerge.
