A blend of two vineyards: one single, under organic conversion site on the eastern side of the Waipara Valley (85%), with the remainder from the famed Bedford Vineyard.
Wild fermented with a mix of pump overs and plunging for soft tannin extraction. 10 months' maturation in old French oak before settling in tank prior to bottling. Unfined and unfiltered.
An approachable take on Waipara pinot with soft, rounded tannins and a savoury earthiness profile typical of the eastern valley's clay and limestone soil composite, with delicate pink cherry and red stone fruit aromas.
