2023 Tenute Orestiadi Molino A Vento Nero d’Avola, Sicily

Intense ruby red colour. The nose has pleasantly fruity notes ranging from liquorice to berries. On the palate: it has a good body accompanied by soft and round tannins. Good persistence that tends towards a fruity finish.

This Sicilian estate just an hour southwest of Palermo sourceS fruit from around the ancient town of Gibellina and of course on Mt. Etna. Tenute Orestiadi is a project born of the Orestiadi Foundation, based in Gibellina, and a local co-op Cantine Ermes.

Nero D'Avola is the most widely grown and important variety in Sicily. This example is grown on black, silt rich, compacted soils 100 and 300 metres above sea level.
