From high altitude vineyards at the foothills of the Andes, Terrazas de los Andes Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon captures the clarity and structure that define Mendoza’s mountain grown reds. The estate was founded with a focus on altitude driven terroir, sourcing fruit from vineyards planted between 900 and 1200 metres where intense sunlight and cool nights build concentration while preserving freshness. Careful vineyard management and measured oak maturation shape a Cabernet that feels both generous and finely composed.
A deep ruby garnet with purple flashes fills the glass. Aromas unfold with blackcurrant, ripe plum and blackberry layered with mint, cedar, tobacco and a touch of spice. There is a lifted freshness that keeps the wine vibrant despite its richness.
The palate is medium to full bodied and structured, delivering concentrated cassis and dark berry fruit framed by firm, polished tannins and balanced acidity. Notes of dark chocolate, graphite and dried herbs build through the mid palate, leading to a long, savoury finish that feels both powerful and controlled. While already expressive, this Cabernet will continue to evolve over eight to twelve years, gaining additional depth and complexity.
Grilled ribeye with chimichurri running down the board, smoky empanadas straight from the oven, or slow cooked beef with paprika and herbs shared loudly and generously. A shift into something Latin and rhythmic, Buena Vista Social Club rolling into Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango, the wine carrying that same sense of movement, warmth and altitude driven intensity.
