A Pinot Noir with serious Oregon credentials, VGR stands for Very Good Red, although the name is wonderfully modest for a wine of this calibre. Founded by Chris and Kathryn Hermann, 00 Wines has developed a cult following for its meticulous winemaking and exceptional vineyard selections. Sourced from the Willamette Valley, where cool Pacific influences and varied volcanic and sedimentary soils encourage fragrant fruit and beautifully refined structure.
Brilliant ruby red with delicate crimson highlights. Wild cherry, raspberry and ripe strawberry mingle with violet, rose petals and a hint of woodland spice. The 2024 vintage is elegant and expressive, with silky tannins, lively acidity and a gentle earthy character. Fresh red berries and subtle savoury notes linger through a beautifully balanced finish.
Delicious with duck and shiitake dumplings, roasted quail with cherries, or a golden mushroom and leek tart. A lovely introduction to the distinctive Pinot Noir of Oregon.
Cellaring: Drink now to 2035. Beautifully approachable, with the structure to develop greater complexity over time.
