Down in the sun drenched landscapes of Puglia, A Mano has built a loyal following for wines that capture southern Italian warmth with clarity and freshness. Founded by winemaker Mark Shannon and his partner Elvezia Sbalchiero, the project focuses on working closely with local growers to showcase regional varieties at their most vibrant and authentic. The Fiano Greco blend is a natural fit here, bringing together Fiano’s texture and gentle aromatics with the bright citrus drive and minerality of Greco, shaped by limestone soils and cooling Adriatic influences.
A pale straw colour with golden flashes glows in the glass. Aromas feel sunny and inviting with ripe pear, white peach and lemon zest layered alongside almond skin, wild herbs and a subtle saline lift. There is an easy Mediterranean charm to the bouquet. The palate is medium bodied and lively, orchard fruit and citrus flowing across a softly rounded texture before tightening into a crisp, dry finish. Hints of grapefruit pith, fennel and warm stone add complexity, while fresh acidity keeps everything balanced and refreshing.
This is the sort of white that feels made for long lunches and generous platters. Grilled seafood, burrata with tomatoes, roast chicken with oregano or simple pasta with olive oil and herbs will all sing alongside its bright personality. Best enjoyed in its youthful vibrancy over the next three to five years, though a little bottle age will bring extra nutty nuance. A charming and authentic taste of Puglia that delivers pure drinking pleasure.
