As is the way, a lovely offering, with heady aromas – all spicy and floral. Flavours of herbal-infused red cherries and some savoury/meaty/charcuterie notes, too. It’s fuller bodied without being heavy. Not complex but a delicious drink for today.

From one of Australia’s oldest family owned wineries comes a Grenache that reflects both heritage and the generous character of Langhorne Creek. Bleasdale was founded in 1850 by Frank Potts, who famously built his own lever press which still stands as a symbol of the estate’s pioneering spirit. Today the Potts family legacy continues with a focus on estate grown fruit and traditional winemaking values. Langhorne Creek, influenced by the nearby Lake Alexandrina and cooling breezes off the Southern Ocean, produces Grenache with ripe fruit, supple tannins and natural balance.
Bright ruby with crimson flashes, the aromatics are lifted and inviting. Raspberry, red cherry and plum unfold alongside hints of dried herbs, subtle spice and a gentle earthy undertone. There is a freshness that reflects the region’s maritime influence and careful vineyard management.
On the palate it is medium bodied and beautifully balanced, combining juicy red berry fruit with soft, rounded tannins. Bright acidity keeps the wine lively, while notes of white pepper, spice and discreet oak add depth and texture. The finish is smooth and persistent, lingering with cherry and savoury nuance. It is Grenache that captures both approachability and regional character.
Pair with grilled lamb cutlets, slow roasted pork, Mediterranean vegetable dishes or wood fired pizza. Enjoy now for its vibrancy and fruit expression, or cellar confidently for eight to twelve years as it develops greater savoury complexity.
