This very rare wine is a co fermented “field blend” of the rare German variety Schönburger and our 1974 planting of Riesling. There are intense aromas of fruit and flower. Flavours abound, with Jasmine, gardenia, ripe grapefruit, honeydew, rockmelon, hints of wet-stone minerality and phenomenally clear golden delicious apple notes! Inherent fruit sweetness is balanced by refreshing acidity ensuring a crisp, fresh finish - it’s like standing in a field of daisies in summer, with a fresh fruit salad.
A combination of the rare German Schönburger grape with the powerful fruit from our 'Old Vine' Riesling block to create the Lieblich Field Blend. Lieblich is an old German word used to describe semi sweet wines, such as this wine.
