Wild cherry and bright strawberry fruits on the attack, salted cracker and oyster shell salinity adds a mouthwatering character, but the tannins are a little hard, clsoing things down. 3.74 pH. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2024 La Gurgue reveals an austere, brooding bouquet of dark berries, cassis and spices. Medium-bodied, structured and dense, it's framed by a compact chassis of tannins with a fruity, somewhat firm finish. It will mature in a combination of large barrels (45%), foudres (30%) and barriques (25%).
