All the components are here, present and correct. Has concentration, ripeness (but no overblown fruit weight), purity, crisp acidity and a saline, pebbly finish. Long on the palate. A fine Preuses which has great potential. Could be enjoyed quite young but best to let the wine blossom. Good Value

Chardonnay from 12-year-old vines with sun exposure throughout the day. Harvested by hand at a yield of 54 hl/ha, then fermented and aged for one year in temperature-controlled stainless steel.
Pale straw with green. My favourite and the most complete aromatically of the range. It too has the citrus, chalk, dried cream, and oyster shell but so well balanced and a class above the rest of the range. The palate is a little more closed at first but has plenty of white grapefruit and limestone flavour long and wide. Finishes with a burst of clementine and mineral acidity ahead of lingering spice, white flowers and dried herbs. This is already drinking but has plenty of energy and potential. Excellent .

Domaine Roy is a Chablis producer whose wines celebrate the distinctive character of northern Burgundy's limestone vineyards. Les Preuses is one of the seven celebrated Chablis Grand Cru climats, prized for its combination of elegance, mineral intensity and remarkable ageing potential. Often considered among the most refined of the Grand Crus, it produces Chardonnay with an almost effortless balance of richness and finesse.
Situated on the slopes above the town of Chablis, Les Preuses benefits from the region's famous Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils. The 2024 vintage was challenging, with a cool, unsettled growing season and reduced yields, but careful vineyard work produced wines with vibrant acidity and beautifully defined fruit. This is a particularly appealing vintage for lovers of classical, mineral driven Chablis.
Pale gold with delicate green reflections. White peach, crisp pear and lemon zest mingle with citrus blossom, oyster shell and a gentle hint of toasted almond. The palate is concentrated yet wonderfully graceful, with ripe orchard fruit, bright acidity and a silky, finely textured middle. Chalky minerality and a subtle saline character carry through a long, refreshing finish.
A lovely match for grilled King George whiting with fennel, steamed mud crab with ginger and spring onion, or delicate prawn and chive ravioli. For something vegetarian, try roasted Jerusalem artichokes with hazelnut and a little browned butter.
Cellaring: Drink 2027 to 2040+. Its mineral structure and lively acidity should reward patient cellaring.
