Mid lemon yellow, a touch of oak on the nose, along with a depth of ripe white fruit. Quite interesting complexity on the palate and definitely good tension. Finishes well. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Nov 2025
91-92 points Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
High above Meursault, the hamlet of Blagny produces Chardonnay with a wonderfully distinctive personality. Its elevated vineyards and limestone rich soils favour freshness, mineral intensity and elegant structure. Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley remains family owned, with Erwan and Eve Faiveley leading the estate and Jérôme Flous overseeing winemaking.
Pale gold with delicate green reflections. White peach, lemon zest and crisp pear mingle with acacia blossom, toasted almond and a hint of wet stone. The cooler 2024 vintage emphasises freshness and finesse, with beautifully textured fruit, lively citrus acidity and a long, chalky finish. A more restrained, mineral expression of Meursault that should develop lovely complexity with age.
Wonderful with grilled King George whiting and lemon, crab and fennel ravioli, or a golden cauliflower tart with hazelnuts and thyme.
Cellaring: 2027 to 2037. A refined Premier Cru with excellent potential to develop greater nutty and savoury complexity.
