Aching beautiful, the wines of Flametree, often fly under the radar in quality and dare I say it, price. This is no different with swoon worthy aromas of Star Jasmine, Freesia and Frangipani blooms set against the plump flesh of white nectarine, mangosteen and poached apples. The palate twists and turns as it reveals its many chiseled facets. First a phenolic grip, then a slew of naturally gracefully acidity. A caress of cinnamon oak and maple. There is some artful consideration for shape and texture, ensuring this will continue to envelop you in ecstasy and satisfaction. A wine worth your time, a place in your cellar and a VIP seat at the table. Stunning.

A warmer vintage and, sure, this wine reflects that, yet it’s nonetheless contained by lovely flavours and acidity. A touch of stone fruit, lemon and grapefruit, a moreish, savoury element, too, spicy oak, integrated well, and nutty lees. It’s very satisfying.

Flametree Chardonnay from Margaret River is a stunning expression of cool-climate Australian Chardonnay, reflecting the region's renowned terroir and Flametree's meticulous winemaking. Crafted by chief winemaker Cliff Royle, this Chardonnay strikes the perfect balance between vibrant fruit, fine structure, and elegant complexity.
In the glass, it shines pale gold with green hues. The nose is bright and inviting, offering aromas of white peach, nectarine, and lemon zest, alongside subtle notes of toasted almond, flint, and a touch of vanilla from well-integrated French oak. There’s a hint of struck match, adding a layer of complexity without overpowering the vibrant fruit.
On the palate, it’s beautifully balanced, combining creamy texture with crisp acidity. Citrus and stone fruit flavors dominate, supported by delicate oak spice and a fine, chalky minerality. The finish is long and refreshing, with lingering notes of grapefruit pith, roasted cashew, and saline freshness.
This Chardonnay pairs effortlessly with grilled seafood, roast chicken, or creamy pasta dishes. It also shines alongside soft cheeses and light vegetable fare. While drinking beautifully now, it has the structure to age gracefully for 5–8 years, gaining further complexity while retaining its vibrant core.
Flametree Chardonnay is a standout example of Margaret River’s world-class Chardonnay style—elegant, expressive, and packed with character.
