Up in Alto Adige, where vineyards climb into the foothills of the Dolomites, Cantina Girlan has long been a benchmark for clean, precise whites shaped by altitude and alpine freshness. Founded in 1923 as a cooperative, Girlan brings together growers across a patchwork of sites, from warm valley floors to cooler, higher elevations. The 448 Bianco takes its name from the altitude where much of the fruit is grown, a nod to the crisp, mountain influenced style that defines the wine.

This is a blend built for vibrancy, typically bringing together varieties like Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc, each contributing a layer. Aromatically it is bright and lifted, green apple and pear alongside citrus peel, with a gentle herbal note and a hint of white flowers. There is a clean, almost alpine feel, fresh and inviting.

The palate is light to medium bodied, driven by crisp acidity that gives it a lively, refreshing edge. Orchard fruit and citrus flow through cleanly, finishing dry with a subtle mineral note that reflects those cooler sites. It is all about balance and drinkability, nothing heavy, everything in place.
