From Alto Adige, Girlan Pinot Bianco delivers crisp pear, citrus and Alpine minerality with refined Italian elegance.
High in the shadow of the Dolomites, Alto Adige has become one of Italy's finest regions for crisp, expressive white wines. Founded in 1923, Cantina Girlan brings together generations of local growers whose vineyards stretch across the region's elevated slopes, where cool alpine nights and mineral rich soils create wines of remarkable purity and finesse. Pinot Bianco has long been one of the estate's signature varieties, thriving in this spectacular mountain landscape.
The 2024 vintage produced beautifully balanced fruit, with long sunny days and cool evenings preserving freshness while encouraging slow, even ripening. Vineyards planted on limestone and porphyry rich soils contribute vibrant acidity and a distinctive mineral character, while careful winemaking allows the fruit to retain its natural elegance and precision.
Pale straw with green tinged highlights, the bouquet is fragrant with aromas of pear, white peach and crisp apple layered with citrus blossom, lemon zest and delicate alpine herbs. The palate is finely textured and beautifully focused, revealing fresh orchard fruit, bright citrus and a gentle saline minerality carried by lively natural acidity. Long, refreshing and effortlessly elegant, the finish lingers with chalky freshness and subtle floral notes.
Serve alongside grilled King George whiting, freshwater trout, asparagus risotto, burrata with lemon and herbs or lightly crumbed calamari. Equally suited to an aperitif or the dinner table, this is a wonderfully pure expression of Alto Adige Pinot Bianco.
